Military Analysis and Lessons Learned (LL)

In the current operational environment, the number of factors a commander must consider when planning a mission has significantly increased. At the same time, the overall time available for a commander to make a decision has decreased. Given the above, it can be assumed that the traditional method of a commander's work is outdated. The application of modern operation planning methods is a necessity. Goal: To teach trainees how to qualitatively analyze tasks and develop courses of action using Troop Leading Procedures (TLP), which allows for the most effective mission execution with minimal threat to personnel and military equipment. The course is designed for squad, platoon, and company commanders, regardless of their prior training level. It is recommended to bring a laptop for the duration of the classes. Course duration: 67 hours.

The dynamics of modern combat operations require continuous analysis of the volatile operational environment and rapid adaptation of unit tactics. This capability development programme prepares lessons learned officers. Military personnel master the standardised NATO process, the methodology for conducting after-action reviews, formulating reliable observations, and developing comprehensive analytical reports. Graduates are capable of independently collecting objective data, determining remedial action plans, and integrating acquired combat experience into training, ensuring a systematic improvement in the efficiency of tactical task execution.

Continuous adaptation to a volatile combat environment requires the involvement of all personnel in capturing and examining tactical experience. This capability development programme prepares military personnel to practically apply the lessons learned process at the unit level. Participants master the algorithms for conducting after-action reviews (AAR), objective observation techniques, and the fundamentals of preliminary combat event analysis. Graduates are capable of independently recording critical engagement details, facilitating tactical debriefs, and transmitting reliable data to systematically improve unit training.
