The commander of an aerial reconnaissance and artillery adjustment unit implemented NATO planning procedures after completing the TLP course at the Boryviter Military School. The primary result is the systematization of command and control, the standardization of after-action reviews, and improved coordination efficiency with adjacent units during mission preparation.
Combat problem: prior to the training, the servicewoman with the call sign "Angel" commanded the unit based on unstructured experience. The processes of delegating duties and ensuring the situational awareness of subordinates required a clear algorithm for the timely detection and engagement of targets. Tool: the small unit Troop Leading Procedures (TLP) course from Boryviter. Result: the commander's previous experience was transformed into a robust system. From now on, operation planning is conducted with mandatory consideration of the operational situation of adjacent units and the overall concept of operations in the designated sector of the front.
A distinct indicator of capability expansion was the inter-branch combat integration during the course. Joint planning with representatives of various specialties allowed for the optimization of data exchange processes. Thanks to the new command and control tools, each crew receives comprehensive situational awareness regarding the combat order, clearly understanding its role in the overall mechanism of the operation's execution.
